Duties as SEMH Teaching Assistant Support a small class of pupils with SEMH needs, working closely with the class teacher Assist in delivering tailored learning activities and interventions Help manage behaviour and promote emotional regulation strategies Build positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and progress Contribute to the development of individual education plans (IEPs) Support pupils during transitions, break times, and off‑site activities Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment Ideal SEMH Teaching Assistant Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs Understanding of behaviour management and emotional support strategies Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting pupils Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children Willingness to undertake relevant training and development Why Step Teachers?
