We are seeking enthusiastic people to join our friendly and supportive team of paediatric audiologists in East London. These positions are based at West Ham Lane Health Centre in Stratford. The department works closely with the other paediatric audiology departments within Barts Health NHS Trust. It provides a comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitation service for children, covering both secondary and tertiary care, including working closely with our Consultant audio-vestibular physician. We are actively working towards IQIPS accreditation.Audiology is managed by Bart's Health and we have sites across Tower Hamlets, City & Hackney and Newham, Waltham Forest and Redbridge.We have 70 plus members of staff which includes Clinical Scientists, Audiologists, Audiology Assistants, Consultant audio-vestibular physicians and administrative staff.The successful candidates will be confident, a good communicators, and able to work well within a large team. You will have a BSc in Audiology or Clinical physiology (audiology) or equivalent.You will be registered with either AHCS or HCPC.Main duties of the jobPerform specialist diagnostic procedures, and provide a comprehensive specialist hearing aid service to children, including determining care plans for individual patients, and involving carers and families as appropriate.To assist with the day-to-day management for Paediatric Audiology service.To take an active role in areas of clinical audit, research and clinical governance for the Audiology service, which may include designing and completing audits within own field, participating in data collection for larger projects, and contributing to the development of evidence base protocols.To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, within professional boundaries. To be ultimately accountable to the Clinical lead, and to seek guidance from peers or senior staff whenever necessary.To carry out all Audiological procedures according to national, professional and local protocols. We are inclusive, so if you are interested in flexible working, please speak to the recruiting manager.Person SpecificationQualificationsBSc Audiology OR BTEC qualification in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement & successfully completed both parts of BAAT I and II (or equivalent)Registered to practice with the Academy of Healthcare Science (AHCS) as a Clinical Physiologist (Audiology) or registered as a clinical scientist with Healthand care professions council (HCPC)Theoretical and practical knowledge of Paediatric Audiology, and advanced Audiological test techniquesAn awareness of national Audiology and NHS developmentsEvidence of CPDMSc in Audiological Science plus CAC/CCC Or Successful completion of the STP in AudiologyEligible/registered as a clinical scientist with HCPC or on the voluntary register with AHCSAdvanced courses in AudiologyBritish Sign Language QualificationsMembership with the BAA and/or BSADiploma/Post graduate Certificate in ManagementExperienceNHS experience within Paediatric Audiology, including behavioural assessment and rehabilitationResponsibility for area(s) of speciality within Audiology and/or general administrationDemonstrable operational managerial responsibilityExperience of working at a senior level demonstrating clinical competency within relevant clinical areaEvidence and experience of leading change, demonstrating sustained improvementsWorking towards post graduate qualificationsKnowledgeTheoretical and practical knowledge of Paediatric Audiology, and advanced Audiological test techniquesAwareness of the safeguarding procedures in place to maintain the wellbeing and protection of vulnerable childrenThorough understanding of the concept and practical implications of clinical governanceAn awareness of national Audiology and NHS developmentsDisclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions. #J-18808-Ljbffr
