We are looking for an paediatric Audiologist to join our team paediatric department within Children's Community Services, NELFT NHS Foundation Trust. We are a community based department with two sites Harold Wood Clinic, Havering and Child and Family Centre in Barking. We offer a full range of services including seeing children with permanent childhood hearing impairment, fitting hearing aids and working with teachers in local school and speech and language collegues. We also offer support for children with bothersome tinnitus and offer hearing test for those with complex needs. Main duties of the job The service covers Havering, Barking and Dagenham. The successful applicant would work across both sites. We are looking to fill a full time post. The successful candidate will be required undertaking hearing assessments for children age 7 months - 18 years. This will require skills in Visual Reinforcement Audiometry, Play Audiometry and objective testing (OAEs and tympanometry). Experience is essential but support will also be provided to support the experienced audiologist to integrate into the service. The successful candidate will also be required to undertake hearing aid fittings in line with paediatric hearing aid guidelines and manage their time to accommodate hearing aid repairs on Phonak and Oticon hearing aids. Experience in this areas would be beneficial. This is an excellent opportunity for any current paediatric audiologist to develop and expand their skills with children with complex needs or for a paediatric audiologist looking to expand their skills with hearing aid fittings and leadership responsiblities in a new team. There is opportunities to be involved in VRA peer review, clinical audit and IQUIPs. We book patients on the patient management system called RIO and test hearing using the Interacoustics Affinity Compact.
