Design & Technical Support Coordinator
Design & Technical Support Coordinator Location: Sydney (office-based with occasional site and workshop work)Salary: $65,000 – $78,000 per year (including superannuation) About Us UNIPAC is a specialist in the design, supply and installation of premium workshop equipment and technical workspaces. We partner with leading brands including Toyota, Hino, Hyundai and Genesis to deliver state‑of‑the‑art, efficient and innovative workshop environments across Australia. While our roots are in automotive, we now support projects across EV, fleet, industrial, motorsport, mining and healthcare. Our small, highly motivated team thrives on collaboration, problem‑solving and engineering excellence – whether it’s optimising workflows, creating tailored workshop designs or managing complex installations from concept through to handover. We’re a hands‑on, fast‑growing firm where you can see the direct impact of your work. You won’t be a tiny cog in a huge machine – you’ll get genuine ownership, exposure to projects all over Australia, and the flexibility to manage your time in a results‑focused, supportive environment. The Role This is a hybrid design and technical support role that sits at the centre of our project delivery. You will: Support the Project Engineer and Sales Engineer with all technical and design‑related tasks; and Support the Accounts & Admin Coordinator with admin, warehouse and dispatch tasks. The role combines: 2D CAD drafting (a core part of the role – you must be highly proficient) Rendering and visualisation Project and operational support Warehouse/dispatch support Occasional hands‑on work on the tools to help with aspects of our fitout scope You’ll gain exposure to real projects all over Australia and see the full journey from concept to completed workshop. Key Responsibilities Design & 2D CAD Documentation Produce accurate 2D CAD drawings (layouts, plans, elevations, markups). Prepare drawing packs, item schedules and project documentation. Maintain CAD standards, templates and file structures. Assist with basic to intermediate 3D CAD models of layouts, equipment and key project elements. Support the Project Engineer and Sales Engineer with 3D visual outputs required for planning and client discussions. Create rendered images and visualisations from 3D models for internal reviews and client presentations. Assist in producing visual content that communicates design intent clearly and professionally. Project & Operational Support Support the Project Engineer with design updates, markups, as‑built drawings and documentation. Support the Sales Engineer with concept layouts, technical markups and documentation for quotes and proposals. Help compile installation packs, manuals and handover documents. Assist with coordination of deliveries and basic logistics tasks. Warehouse, Dispatch & Hands‑On Support Support the Accounts & Admin Coordinator by packing and dispatching orders (tools, equipment, project components). Receive deliveries, label and organise stock in storage areas. Perform simple inventory checks and keep areas tidy and organised. Occasionally assist on site or in the workshop with basic install/support tasks – understanding how what we design is actually built. General Support Assist with internal admin and document control related to projects and design. Contribute to continuous improvement as we grow and refine how we work. About You You don’t need to be a senior designer – we’ll provide training and guidance – but you’re not completely green. You have some practical experience and the right attitude. You’ll bring: Strong proficiency in 2D CAD (AutoCAD or similar) – this is a core part of the role. Some exposure to 3D CAD modelling in a relevant package. Strong attention to detail and pride in the quality of your output. Willingness to pitch in where needed – from CAD work to packing a pallet to basic hands‑on work on site. A proactive mindset and desire to learn from real projects, not just sit behind a screen. These are nice‑to‑have (not essential), but will be highly regarded: Experience with rendering and visualisation tools (CAD plug‑ins or standalone software). General IT aptitude – comfortable working with cloud‑based systems and troubleshooting basic issues. Some knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory), or an interest in learning how our identity/access and cloud environments are structured. Experience in an engineering, construction, manufacturing, mining or workshop environment. What We Offer Total package $65,000 – $78,000 per year including superannuation, depending on experience. A genuinely varied role – a mix of design, coordination and occasional hands‑on work. Exposure to projects all over Australia and real‑world engineering environments. Close collaboration with experienced engineers, sales and admin staff. A team where current and past staff consistently say the mix of office and practical work is a refreshing change of pace. Room to grow as the business scales – if we make big jumps, everyone benefits. How to Apply Please send your CV and a short cover letter explaining: Your experience with 2D CAD and 3D CAD. Any examples of rendering/visual work (if available). Any IT, Azure or Entra ID exposure you’ve had (if applicable). #J-18808-Ljbffr
