OverviewThe HSE Coordinator is a factory‑based, hands‑on role focused on meeting compliance obligations for Health, Safety, and Environment, and driving best practice across all business areas. The role holder will bring a passion for growth, challenge practices where needed, and lead a culture‑change process that engages staff and embeds positive HSE practices into everything the organisation does.ResponsibilitiesHealth, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Management: Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies and procedures; monitor compliance with legal and other requirements; support risk assessments; collaborate with management on risk control and corrective actions.Training and Awareness: Construct and deliver internal HSE training courses; support new starter and contractor inductions; coordinate external HSE training (.g., First Aid); promote awareness through HSE representatives and the committee.Incident Reporting and Investigation: Monitor accident, incident, and near‑miss reporting; investigate events to determine root causes; develop and implement corrective actions; ensure timely reporting to regulatory agencies such as RIDDOR.Safety Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular workplace inspections; perform scheduled internal audits of the Integrated Management System (IMS); prepare findings reports and recommendations.Emergency Preparedness: Maintain the Site Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan; coordinate drills (e.g., fire evacuation, spill response); ensure employees are trained and equipment is maintained.Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on applicable HSE laws; ensure operations meet or exceed best practice; prepare and submit external reports to regulatory authorities.Environment and Sustainability: Maintain the register of significant environmental aspects; support waste stream management and Duty of Care compliance; investigate and deploy energy efficiency improvements; research and develop production process enhancements; lead initiatives to reduce the company’s carbon footprint.Qualifications & ExperienceNEBOSH General Certificate / NVQ Level 5 (ideally pursuing Diploma)IEMA Environmental Certificate (or equivalent)Minimum Technology IOSH status (ideally CertIOSH or willingness to pursue)Strong working knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001Internal Auditor qualification is an advantageUnderstanding of root cause analysis techniques (e.g., Fishbone, 5 Whys)Minimum 3 years experience in an HSE‑related coordinator roleStrong understanding of UK regulatory requirements relating to HSEExperience managing HSE in a busy manufacturing environmentDemonstrable experience leading multiple HSE improvement projects #J-18808-Ljbffr
