Contract Details Location: Bristol Contract Type: Permanent Salary: £26,000 - £29,000 per annum FTE Hours: 22.5 hours per week Role Overview You will lead and inspire the next generation of music talent through your planning and delivery of the music curriculum. You will mark and assess learner projects, setting high expectations and motivating them to be the best that they can be. You will be a role model, providing our learners with innovative, practical and employment-led training. The role requires you to collaborate with others to share best practices and ensure that our learners get the highest quality experience. You will work with experienced, passionate tutors as well as within a support service provided by our Central Team. Working at Access Creative College means working with learners who are engaged, enthusiastic and passionate about the education they are gaining. Main Objectives To contribute to the successful delivery of curricula within the subject area. To plan, design, develop, produce and deliver educational programmes and teaching/assessment materials across a range of modules within a subject area(s). To engage in subject, professional and/or pedagogy scholarship, enterprise, research and/or innovation activity. To inspire young people within a variety of electronic music genres. Qualifications A degree (BA/BSc) in Music Performance or a relevant subject area (essential). A formal teaching qualification at level 4 (CTLLS or equivalent) or above (desirable). Instrument performance ability (Guitar/Keyboard). Knowledge and experience: experience working in education (desirable), a demonstrable record of success in previous roles, experience working and performing in bands. Significant experience teaching Music Performance. Up-to-date knowledge of the subject area, syllabus requirements and appropriate teaching techniques; awareness of awarding body requirements. Knowledge of learner needs assessment and support mechanisms. Understanding of equality and diversity within the curriculum, barriers to learning and strategies to overcome these. Knowledge of the local area and potential partners and guest speakers (desirable). No candidate will meet every single desired qualification.
