Main duties of the job Applications are invited for doctors with suitable experience to work as full‑time Pre‑Transplant BMT Clinical Fellows in the Foundation Trust's Bone Marrow Transplantation programme. We are looking to appoint two positions within the medical coordination team. Successful clinical fellows will receive full educational opportunities and the chance to rotate through other posts in transplantation and cellular therapy. Future research opportunities will be encouraged depending on the aspirations of the successful candidates. About us Nationally the transplant team at Kings provides one of the largest services for adult stem cell transplantation, including both autologous and allogeneic transplantation for a range of haematological malignancies with a specialist interest in myeloid disorders and bone marrow failure syndromes. In addition to the Clinical BMT programme, we provide donor evaluation and collection services for Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust as one of their Collection Facilities. Job responsibilities A significant expansion in CAR‑T work will allow the post‑holder to gain additional valuable experience in this area. This JACIE‑accredited service is led by a Transplant Director and staffed by a team of consultants and clinical nurse specialists. The post‑holder will work in a well‑established team of nursing transplant coordinators, two post‑BMT Nurse Consultants and CNS, and dedicated administrative support. Research and visiting fellows in the BMT programme participate in clinics and follow‑up of transplant patients. There is a dedicated transplant clinic once a week, a regular schedule for day‑unit reviews and a weekly nurse‑led specialist late‑effects clinic. The post‑holder will work under the supervision of the transplant director and the BMT Consultant team, gaining broad experience in all aspects of white‑cell haematology with a focus on management of pre‑BMT patients and those being evaluated for novel cellular therapies (CAR‑T). This role may also be suitable for non‑UK or non‑EEA applicants wishing to apply for Home Office Tier 2 sponsorship. Person Specification Qualification and training Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) MB ChB or evidence of equivalent qualification MRCPath or evidence of equivalent qualification MRCP or evidence of equivalent qualification Completed higher specialist training in Haematology and CCT (or equivalent) Experience Evidence of training and experience in clinical and laboratory haematology Able to take responsibility for delivering service with supervision Knowledge and skills Knowledge and experience of relevant specialty Broad range of IT skills Knowledge of evidence‑based practice Clinical governance and audit Understanding of clinical governance and the individual responsibilities it implies Knowledge of the principles of clinical audit and evidence of participation Participation in continuing professional development (CPD) scheme and, where relevant, evidence of participation Teaching and training Experience of teaching medical students Experience of supervising trainee haematologists Research Knowledge of the principals involved in research Evidence of involvement in research Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions. £65,048 to £73,992 a year plus London allowance #J-18808-Ljbffr
