Senior Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist Join our integrated team in the Emergency Department (ED) at St Mary's Hospital. This exciting part‑time role offers the chance to assess and treat a wide range of patient cohorts, including frailty, falls, dementia, delirium, musculoskeletal injuries, neurological conditions and other long‑term conditions presenting to the Emergency Department. The role is part of a multidisciplinary team of occupational therapists and physiotherapists who share skills and practice autonomously. You will work 18 hours per week, with weekend service in ED and acute medical units. Shift patterns are varied from 8am‑6pm Monday to Friday, with rest days allocated after each shift. Professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work, including patient management. Complete comprehensive assessment and re‑assessment of patients, establishing physical, cognitive, perceptual, psychological, and social functioning. Communicate effectively with patients and carers/family to motivate, engage, and ensure understanding of their condition. Handle sensitivity and constructiveness with patients and carers who may exhibit anxiety, frustration, or aggression. Plan and prioritise own caseload independently, coordinating with team priorities and assisting colleagues as needed. Measure and evaluate own work and current practice through projects, audit or outcome measures. Critically appraise published research and apply findings to practice. Assist in induction, daily supervision and delegation to junior staff and students.
