Our internal mission is to #chooseaction, #beopen, #thinkcustomer, #gofurther and #wintogether.The Purpose: We are looking for an experienced Legal Counsel based in London with expertise in product and regulatory law. As part of the PPRO legal team, you will collaborate with the Product Lead Counsel, internal stakeholders including the product, treasury and commercial teams and third party partners. You will support our growing payments business on product and regulatory matters globally, with a particular focus on local payment method (LPM) contracts, new product development and partner relationships. Your work will span across multiple legal domains, from contract and corporate law matters to payments and regulation. You will work closely with multiple stakeholders across the PPRO group, understanding complex functions and demonstrating a willingness to learn about all areas of the business. What you will be doingSupporting the product and commercial teams in the development, launch, and scaling of PPRO’s payment products globallyReviewing and negotiating a range of commercial agreements, including LPM agreements, partner agreements and other contracts supporting product development arrangementsAdvising on regulatory requirements relevant to product features, LPM onboarding, and market expansion (e.g., AML/CTF, licensing requirements, conduct rules, cross-border data flow, and payment services regulations)Collaborating with compliance, risk, and regulatory teams to embed legal considerations into PPRO's product lifecycle and go-to-market planningImproving existing legal and governance processes at PPRO and ensuring the appropriate implementation of guidelines and policiesAdvising the business on ad hoc legal queries as required, including employment, intellectual property, corporate law matters and disputesLiaising with external counsel to obtain advice on various matters and conveying this back concisely to the broader business QualificationsBe a qualified lawyer with 5+ years experience in the financial services, payments and/or technology sectorLegal qualification in the UK or EUHave a good working knowledge of financial regulation across the UK/EUDemonstrate strong contractual drafting and analytical skills, combined with pragmatism and business senseBe able to translate complex legal or factual issues into plain English language communicationsHave a strong sense of ownership and drive to push complex legal matters forward to completionWork effectively with cross-functional and remote teams in a collaborative manner and be able to perform and deliver results under pressureHave an open, flexible, and team-oriented personality.
