I am delighted to be working with and supporting an industry-leading cryptocurrency exchange business as they look to grow their legal function further. With recently secured investment and plans to raise further money in the future, it is absolutely theright time to be joining them as they continue pushing the crypto revolution.

My client are seeking to recruit a Legal Counsel to head up their regulatory function for the EMEA region, reporting to the Head of Legal in the U.K. This is a really key hire for them so you will play an increasingly integral part in the continued developmentof their platform, managing external relationships with regulators and building your profile across the wider business.

As Regulatory Legal Counsel - EMEA, you will be responsible for:

- Engaging and advising on key compliance changes that may affect the business outcomes, providing pragmatic and commercially focused advice.
- Supporting the companies continued international expansion with assessing new territories and understanding the key regulatory and licensing requirements in each region.
- Working closely with other legal functions e.g the product team in developing and assessing new products and services.
- Continually following key regulatory changes and acting upon these swiftly, in the fast-moving world of Cryptocurrency.
- Provide training and coaching to non-legal personnel on potential risks to compliance.
- Managing external counsel relationships, instructing where necessary.

You will be the following:

- A U.K. or EEA State Qualified Lawyer, with 3-6 years PQE from a top tier law firm.
- Ideally some in-house experience would be great, within Fintech or Financial Services. This can either be a permanent position or via a secondment.
- Experience or a key interest is Crypto as an industry and the regulatory changes affecting the market.
- Strong inter-personal skills, ability to communicate complex issues in a simplistic and easy to understand manner.
- Successful track-record of anticipating key legal issues and pre-empting regulatory changes that could affect the business.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing a growing workload and meeting urgent deadlines.
