BEfriend's vision is to reduce isolation through increasing connections for vulnerable adults across the whole of the London Boroughs of Ealing and Hounslow. Our befriending model is known for being high quality and professional, with a high level of support given to both clients and volunteers. We are looking for a Treasurer who wants to make a difference in their local community using their financial background and knowledge. What are we looking for? Knowledge of bookkeeping and financial management Good financial analysis skills with the ability to think about the future as well as the present Strong working knowledge of Excel Be methodical, organised and consistent Ability to communicate clearly, in particular explain figures to other people Have a strong commitment to the organisation Provide staff with advice and guidance on financial matters where needed Some experience or knowledge of charity finance, fundraising and pension schemes would be an advantage What will you be doing? BEfriend is an ambitious and forward thinking charity which has grown significantly over the past 10 years. We are now looking for a new Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees. Specific tasks include Oversee the financial affairs of the organisation and ensure they are legal, constitutional and within accepted accounting practice. Liaise with the CEO and committee members to ensure the financial viability of the organisation. Make fellow committee members aware of their financial obligations and take a lead in interpreting financial data to them. Regularly report the financial position at committee meetings (balance sheet, cash flow, fundraising performance etc). Oversee the production of an annual budget and propose its adoption at the last meeting of the previous financial year. Ensure proper records are kept and that effective financial procedures and controls are in place associated to purchases, petty cash, payroll etc. Appraising the financial viability of plans, proposals and feasibility studies. Lead on appointing and liaising with auditors/an independent examiner to prepare the annual accounts and present the financial report at the Annual General Meeting. #J-18808-Ljbffr
