Learning & Development Designer We are recruiting for a Learning & Development Designer to join our Armed Forces Recruitment Service (AFRS) contract. This diverse role involves designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality learning solutions for AFRS civilian and service personnel. The role includes creating engaging blended learning, eLearning, videos, guides, workshops and systems training while ensuring alignment with Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT), business needs, and external quality standards. Responsibilities Design and create learning content across digital, face‑to‑face, and blended formats. Maintain the AFRS content library and ensure materials support capability growth. Work closely with SMEs, delivery leads and the L&D team to scope, design, and implement training. Use and maintain the Defence Learning Environment (DLE), SharePoint and e‑portfolio systems. Ensure all learning meets DSAT methodology and external quality requirements. Evaluate and improve learning using data, feedback, and insights. Provide expert advice on learning design, user experience, and blended learning methods. Manage design projects within scope, time, and budget. Qualifications & Experience Strong knowledge of eLearning design, LMS platforms, and digital learning tools (e.g., Articulate, Rise, Vyond, and DLE). Understanding of L&D models, blended learning, and user‑centred design. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organisational skills. Ability to work creatively, manage priorities, and drive continuous improvement. Commercial L&D experience desirable. Experience of DSAT is desirable. Ability to gain BPSS and SC clearance required; UK travel as needed.
