Business Support Officer – Luton Borough Council Fixed Term, 37 hours per week, Salary £30,024‑£32,597. About the Role As a Business Support Officer within the Housing Directorate, you will deliver high‑quality business support services, providing comprehensive office management across the Directorate. Responsibilities include procurement, IT and mobile coordination, meeting management, diary and briefing preparation, support with regulatory requirements, performance data analysis, event coordination, and financial/HR administration. Key Responsibilities Manage procurement of consumables, coordinate IT and mobile requirements, and administer financial and HR processes. Support performance management activities, including data analysis, reporting and improvement recommendations. Coordinate events from internal meetings to large conferences, managing budgets, logistics and stakeholder engagement. Provide direct support to the Housing Director and Heads of Service: diary, agenda preparation, minutes, and confidential communication. Handle complaints, FOI, DPA enquiries and telephone enquiries, exercising sound judgement and escalation as needed. Maintain corporate requirements: planning, equalities, health & safety, HR, IT and quality assurance. About You Experienced business support professional with proven ability to develop and implement systems and procedures. Strong analytical skills, capable of interpreting and presenting large data volumes. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and database management. Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, able to meet strict deadlines. Professional communicator, able to engage with senior managers and external partners. Understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion. NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent experience. Fluency in speaking and writing English.
