Job Overview Applicants must have completed the Nursing Associate Foundation Degree and be a Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register. The role involves working with multi‑professional practitioners, providing person‑centred care for adults with learning disabilities, and supporting recovery within mental health. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be calm, confident, and resilient, and will be able to form therapeutic relationships. Key Responsibilities Work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, high‑quality patient care Promote recovery within adult mental health Support and supervise nursing associate students and health‑care support workers as required Develop effective relationships with service users, families, carers, and partners Qualifications Essential: Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register Essential: Nursing Associate Foundation Degree qualification GCSE Grade A–C in Maths & English or equivalent skills level 2 English language proficiency to the required level Up‑to‑date understanding of the Nursing Associate role, NMC professional standards, and revalidation requirements Experience working within a multidisciplinary team and providing complex, sensitive information Experience of supporting and supervising learners Ability to organise, prioritise and manage workload; adapt to unpredictable environments Ability to communicate effectively (written, verbal, non‑verbal) with patients, relatives, carers and team members Ability to develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families Proactive in seeking advice and escalating when appropriate Desirable Experience in a health‑care setting Qualification in assessment, supervision or teaching in clinical practice Other Requirements Ability to travel independently in accordance with Trust policies Must pass a Disclosure and Barring Service check Flexible approach to meet the needs of the service About the Trust We are the Mental Health & Learning Disability NHS Trust serving County Durham, Darlington, Teesside, North Yorkshire, York and Selby.
