An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in a nurse led Oncology Day Units treating a range of tumour groups. Northumbria has 5 Oncology Day Units (Hexham, North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Alnwick/Berwick). You will work closely with the wider members of the MDT, palliative care and other clinicians in providing high quality care. We require an enthusiastic, highly motivated Registered Nurse Associate to join our team.

We are looking for a dynamic individual with a flexible approach to work who possess excellent interpersonal and organisational skills to work alongside our dedicated team. Necessary training will be provided to enable you with the skills to be able to give certain SACT therapies.
- Be trained towards SACT competencies
- Be able to give certain SACT and supportive treatments
- Assess patients for SACT and supportive treatments
- Work alongside ward managers, sisters, registered and nursing assistants to provide high-quality care
- Ideally, previous training in venepuncture is essential and must be willing to undertake cannulation training
- Work closely alongside other members of the MDT

We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our state-of-the-art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England. We also care for people in their homes and provide services from facilities in local communities such as health centres. We give people greater choice and control over their care to help them to live independently at home and avoid hospital admission where appropriate. - To exercise accountability as set out in the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
- Work within NHCFT policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure high clinical standards.
- To contribute to all nursing care, providing care for people including those with complex needs.
- Working as a member of the nursing team under the direction of the Registered Nurse to provide and monitor care.
- To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organizational boundaries.
