Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, committed Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our practice in Norton. This Advanced Nurse Practitioner role will involve working alongside a multidisciplinary team, including GPs, ANP, Clinical Pharmacists and Nurses to provide care and treatment to patients with either long‑term conditions or undiagnosed undifferentiated diagnoses. The successful Advanced Nurse Practitioner will work as an autonomous practitioner, diagnosing, managing, prescribing and discharging patients with illness or injury across all age groups including young children. This may be by face‑to‑face consultation, telephone or video consultation. Main Duties of the Job The successful postholder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients. In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the postholder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion. Key Responsibilities An autonomous consultant Share of home visits Able to manage acute presentations Able to manage chronic conditions Able to order appropriate investigations (bloods/radiology) Able to refer appropriately to secondary care or organise emergency admissions Share of admin: clinical letters which require actioning/filing Able to file pathology results Able to see all age groups No restrictions on prescribing Able to see pregnant women in regards non pregnancy related issues Able to deal with mental health presentations About Us The team you will be working with as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner includes a fully staffed multi‑disciplinary team with Administration Staff, 5 GP partners, 5 salaried/retainer GPs & 1 ANP, 6 Practice Nurses & 3 HCAs. The team are a progressive and collaborative group, ready to welcome on board any successful additions. Hold an Advanced Nurse Practitioner qualification. Can show evidence of using autonomous physical examination and assessment skills in practice. Can demonstrate a broad and sound knowledge of complex and common conditions in primary care in both adults and children. Knowledge and experience of QOF desirable. Person Specification Qualifications (Essential) Registered Nurse with Nursing and Midwifery Council. Masters Degree OR Postgraduate diploma or degree for Advanced. Practice Qualification OR RCN accreditation. Qualified Independent Nurse Prescriber. Meets NMC revalidation requirements. Meets the standards for registered ANP working at advanced level. Qualifications (Desirable) Qualified triage nurse. Experience (Essential) Experience of practice within the four pillars. Experience of prescribing and undertaking medication reviews. Experience of working in a primary care environment. Experience (Desirable) Experience of working as a practice nurse or community nurse.
