OverviewSales Ledger AssistantLocation: Holborn, London - 2/3 days a week in the officeContract: 6 month fixed term contractSalary: £30,000 - £32,000 (Pro rated)The roleWorking as part of a small, close knit team you'll be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely billing, building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and internal teams.ResponsibilitiesInvoice Preparation and Issuance - Generate and issue sales invoices in accordance with agreed terms, ensuring accuracy in amounts, customer details, and VAT complianceCustomer Account Reconciliation - Maintain and reconcile customer accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptlyCredit Control Support - Assist in the collection of outstanding payments, following up on overdue accounts and liaising with customers to resolve issuesPayments Allocation - Accurately allocate customer payments to their respective accounts and invoicesQuery Resolution - Act as the first point of contact for sales ledger queries from customers and internal departments, ensuring prompt and effective resolutionReporting - Assist in the preparation of weekly and monthly reports related to sales ledger performance, including aged debtors analysisProcess Improvement - Contribute to improving billing processes and implementing best practices in the sales ledger functionCompliance - Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant financial regulations, including HMRC guidelines for VATWhat we're looking forPrevious experience in a sales ledger, billing, or similar finance roleStrong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detailProficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Xero) and MS ExcelKnowledge of UK VAT regulations and accounting standardsExcellent communication and customer service skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAAT qualification (or working towards) is desirable but not essential #J-18808-Ljbffr
