Job Summary Join the City of Edinburgh Council as a Supervising School Counsellor. The successful candidate will base in Drummond, supervise school counsellors and offer counselling services to pupils aged 10+ in associated primary schools. Location: Waverley Court, Edinburgh Salary: £39,129 – £46,023 Hours: 36 per week, 52 weeks Employment type: Full-time Seniority level: Mid‑Senior level Job Function: Education Responsibilities Provide supervision to school counsellors of varying experience and competence. Deliver counselling to pupils aged 10–18, and support primary school pupils 10+. Coordinate with the secondary school, associated primary schools, and team leader to ensure effective delivery. Support the child planning process within the national GIRFEC framework. Arrange appropriate counselling and supervision contact during school holidays. Qualifications & Requirements Fully qualified counsellor and supervisor. Registered with COSCA, BACP or an equivalent professional body. Registered with the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 – must join the PVG Scheme or obtain an update. Undergo Overseas Criminal Record Check if spent 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years. Referral increases chances of interview.
