Our client, an engineering company, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer – Handover for a contract position in Reading – Burghfield. This role is within a highly regulated industry (Nuclear, Oil & Gas, Construction) and requires eligibility to obtain an SC clearance. Role As a Mechanical Engineer – Handover you will assist in the delivery of an ongoing Mechanical & Electrical package in a nuclear environment near Reading. The ideal candidate is a proactive individual with experience in a highly regulated industry. Key Aims & Objectives Support project management to ensure outsourced mechanical design meets requirements, ensuring mechanical project scope is satisfied efficiently and effectively while strictly adhering to customer specifications and standards. Role & Responsibilities Assist with the verification and population of installed equipment for asset registers and O&M manuals. Perform site verifications to ensure design adherence to customer specifications and standards. Collaborate with design engineers to ensure designs are fit for purpose and identify design solutions. Peer review sub‑contractor drawings and documentation against project specification requirements. Raise and manage technical queries through to completion. Develop and maintain good relationships with clients and suppliers, including the assessment and integration of new electrical sub‑contractors. Participate in witnessing factory acceptance tests and project sign‑offs. Support scheduling and tasking information for lead engineers and project management to aid project delivery. Provide on‑site support to the construction team. Participate in on‑site Environment, Safety and Health culture (ESH card). Skills and Experience City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 CSCS.
