This role is crucial to providing an efficient and effective service to our patients in our Echo, ECG, Pacing and Lung Function Departments across both the Freeman Hospital and Royal Victoria Infirmary. Please expand the job details section and read all of the information before applying for the vacancy NO AGENCIES PLEASE Main duties of the job The successful candidate will work as part of a team to provide a friendly and efficient reception service to patients coming into the hospital, putting the patient at the heart of everything you do. You will be required to demonstrate a high level of customer service skills when dealing with potentially distressing situations. You will use the Patient Administration System for booking, cancelling and rescheduling appointments either face to face or telephone, assisting with patient queries which can sometimes be of a complex nature, participating in departmental audits and reports and prioritising their own workload under the supervision of the Reception Team Lead. Good organisational and time management skills are a must. The successful candidate will also be responsible for general admin tasks including processing referrals, filing, posting, attending meetings and completing mandatory training. Job responsibilities To provide an effective and efficient reception and administrative service across the Cardiology Tests Service ensuring that a high quality of customer care is delivered To continue to develop and maintain competencies in all areas of work Person Specification Knowledge NVQ Level 2 in appropriate subject (or on pathway) or equivalent qualification / experience Knowledge of hospital patient administration systems (eRecord) Experience Previous reception/clerical experience in a similar environment Experience in a customer care role Skill Good literacy and numeracy skills IT skills in windows based applications Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
