As a leader, you’ll be part of something genuinely inspirational—whilst having some fun along the wayThis is a flexible voluntary role; most volunteering happens in the evenings or at weekends, and you can commit to as much or as little time as you’re able. Reigate and Banstead Cadets meet every Tuesday, during term time from 6.45pm till 8.45pm, at their base in Redhill. If you feel you are that person then we want to hear from you.We wish you all the very best with your application.The Role & Key ResponsibilitiesAs a cadet leader, you will play a vital role in guiding and supporting young people, helping them grow in confidence, skills, and community spirit.Your key responsibilities will include:Acting as a positive role model for cadetsSupporting and mentoring young cadets during weekly sessionsDelivering sessions based on the VPC curriculumArranging guest speakers and visits to build awareness of emergency services and community organisationsCoordinating joint activities with other youth groups, charities, and partnersSupporting cadets in their volunteering efforts, including attending and supervising community eventsSkills & ExperienceAs a valued cadet leader, you should be able to:Inspire and motivate young people with confidence, positivity and enthusiasmBuild strong relationships with cadets, fellow leaders, and partner organisationsVolunteer flexibly as part of a supportive teamStay up to date with the knowledge needed for the role—including completing all mandatory training within the specified timescalesWe will provide all the training and guidance you need, but it would be beneficial if you have:Prior experience of working with young people or volunteering in your communityA good understanding of safeguarding principlesFamiliarity with policing or local community issuesSkills in delivering or developing training sessionsWhy Volunteer With Us?We take pride in looking after our volunteers, through volunteering you will have the opportunity to:Experience policing first‑handMeet new people and teamsLearn and develop your skillsWe will reimburse any travel expenses you may incur whilst volunteering and we have recognition schemes in place for us to formally show our appreciation for your service.As one of our valued cadet leaders you will have access to financial and mental well‑being guidance and support, discounts for everyday spend, our on‑site gyms and a range of sports clubs.
