This role is based at our Marine Power Test Facility (MPTF) in Whetstone (Leicester). The facility plays a crucial role in de-risking present and future platforms, energy and propulsion technologies, micro grids and associated systems and solutions for both surface ships and submarines in the UK Defence industry. Responsibilities Report to the Marine Power Test Facility (MPTF) Director as part of the MPTF leadership team and provide co-ordination and planning of the facility/programs, resources and project managers across multiple projects, ensuring SQDC alignment across programs and delivering best for business. Own the integrated site program and co-ordination/optimisation with business project planners under an operating rhythm. Lead day-to-day delivery of MPTF operations in line with the program, regulatory requirements and business needs. Manage the site security team and requirements, working with site and UK Security leadership to ensure corporate and Government security compliance and capability improvements for MPTF. Coordinate site IT/OT infrastructure delivery with the UK P&L IT leadership team. Support tenders and ITO/business development from enquiry to order with respect to capacity planning, budgeting and facility use estimation. Drive optimisation and utilisation of facility resources (physical and people). Drive continuous improvement, quality and accountability alongside lean methodology in operations and programs. Collaborate with EHS, facility and project teams to maintain metrics and performance goals including energy usage, regulatory requirements and reporting. Drive on-time delivery (OTD), facility management and maintenance needs; develop business cases for CAPEX investments and infrastructure improvements with action planning tracked to cost and time. Provide leadership and skills development for facility managers, site administration, PMs and operational support functions. Develop and own the business continuity plan. Collaborate with the PMO to ensure Quality processes and operational excellence alignment with corporate processes. Qualifications / Requirements HND / Degree or higher in related Engineering discipline (Electrical Power, Electronics, Mechanical or Control systems). Engineering Project management experience / qualifications. Must be a sole national British citizen with a valid UK passport, ability to attain SC clearance (UK Eyes Only) and a valid full UK driving license. Onsite work 5 days a week. Desired Characteristics Proven track record in managing facilities operations in defence infrastructure, R&D, Nuclear MOD Aerospace/Naval, oil and gas, power/electrification, Government Linked Projects, or Catapult programs. Experience on MOD Test sites, facilities/naval yards/R&D/infrastructure environments. Experience working on Strategic Government Programs. Excellent technical and problem-solving skills with strong reasoning ability. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Experience in operational, planning and coordination roles. Self-motivated and a strong team player. Health & Safety experience and understanding of running site operations.
