Production Supervisor

Our client - an optics manufacturing company - are looking for a _highly skilled & experienced _**Production Supervisor **to join their team.
- Responsible for the Safety, Quality and Delivery of all manufacturing departments - utilising the department cell meetings to track daily outputs, capture actions, assign owners/deadlines and drive through,
- Attend the Operations Cell meeting to report upwards department performance and escalate any issues captured at department level,
- Supervise the Production Technicians and provide technical and hands-on support to the team to help them meet their SQDCG goals,

**Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)**

**Safety**
- Ensure a safe, clean, and organized (5S) workplace is provided for all employees.

**Quality**
- Update work instructions and standard operating procedure documents. Have a sound understanding for the relevant standard quality specifications.

**Delivery**
- Assist with the scheduling and planning of work through the department to provide completed substrates to the coating department to plan. Attend lookahead meetings with the planning department to align schedules across all areas of manufacturing.

**Cost**
- Participate in Rapid Improvement Events and implement resulting actions.

**Growth**
- You should be able to support other employees where necessary.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and more efficient equipment.

**Essential Person Specification - Please ensure that you can provide evidence(s) to the following ESSENTIAL criteria**:

- A solid understanding of optical manufacture & experience of working in the optical industry,
- Good communication skills,
- Computing skills,
- Good handling skills,
- Motivated, Organised & enthusiastic,
- ILM Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in Managing People,
- ONC/GCSE level Mathematics

**Pay**
- £50,000 per annum - depending on experience

**Hours of working**
- Rotating weekly early & late shift
- 6am to 2pm and 2pm to 10pm

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
