Joining Waterman Aspen as Flood Risk Consultant will see you as a key member of the Water and Environment North team and you can expect:A varied client base where you can apply and develop your skillsBuy-in from clients to assist in your technical progressionFurther exposure to your chosen industry – increasing your awareness, knowledge and sharpening your skillsThe flexibility to broaden your horizons with each new secondment, without changing your employerCareer development and training to reach your professional or academic qualification goals supported by our own network of mentors and managersPaid subscription to a professional body of your choiceRegular social events and volunteering opportunitiesUK experience within a public, private or third-sector UK-based client.Degree in a related technical field (environmental / civil engineering) or equivalent experience and be a member of an appropriate institution.Chartered Member or working towards chartered membership of a professional institution such as CIWEM, ICE, APM, etc.Technical experience in UK flood risk legislation and planning standards.Experience in developing business cases for flood risk management schemes with the aim to secure Flood Defence Grant in Aid (FDGiA) funding.Knowledge of hydraulic modelling (Flood Modeller TUFLOW) or drainage modelling software (MicroDrainage or Causeway Flow) and technically competent in fundamental hydraulic design principles.Experience or an understanding of project management or principles to achieve project delivery.Experience working with public sectors such as LLFA’s and/or EA.Experience of working on planning applications and awareness of LLFA duties.Experience working in client facing environments and ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders to deliver positive outcomes.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.A full UK driving licence.Chartered Membership of relevant professional organisation.You’ll get this and so much more…As a salaried colleague, you’ll get a salary in line with your experience, skills and location along with an industry-leading benefits package:Contribution to commuting mileagePermanent health insurance25 days annual leave (option to buy up to 5 more), in addition to the normal public holidays (based on a 40 hour week, pro rata for part-time colleagues)Company pension contributionSalary sacrifice to buy additional benefits1 paid Waterman Aspen in the Community Day to volunteer in your local communityWe have big plans for the future and we’d love for you to be part of it.
