Delivery Consultant - Transport (Rail / Road) Delivery Consultant - Transport (Rail / Road) role at Consultancy.uk. Hybrid working model with on-site requirements vary by role or assignment. Responsibilities Provide strategic advice on capital projects development and delivery, including business case development, commercial arrangements, financial structures, procurement advice, and programme setup. Design, set up governance, assurance, and controls for major capital projects; deliver major capital projects and change programmes; work across Road and/or Rail. Adapt approach to work effectively with clients and inspire confidence across diverse teams. Qualifications Self-motivation and ability to manage own workload effectively. Creative and open minded, with a willingness to learn and try new ways of doing things. Strong communication, presentation creation, delivery and document writing skills. Collaborative team player in multi-discipline teams. Technical Skills Project Delivery (capital and operational work programmes) – in-depth knowledge of capital projects and infrastructure delivery models, including business operating model/change requirements. Delivery Models – understanding of collaborative delivery models (alliancing, partnerships) and contracts (e.g., NEC). Governance – design and optimization of governance arrangements for major capital infrastructure programmes. Assurance – design and implementation of assurance arrangements and/or assurance reviews for major capital programmes. Project Controls – design and optimisation of project controls (people/process/tools) for major programmes. Business Change & Transformation – change management techniques for complex change in capital infrastructure programmes. Consulting Skills High-quality outputs: strong report-writing and presentation skills, distilling complex insights for diverse audiences. Analytics: problem-solving mindset with working knowledge of statistics and modelling in Excel or similar tools; strong writing; ability to author clearly. Future trends: awareness of emerging sector capabilities and trends in road/rail; ability to form views and discuss with clients.
