In this role, you will engage with customers post-sales to develop software solutions on the Appian platform. You will help lead projects and work through the entire project life-cycle to define, design, develop and implement custom software solutions using Appian’s low-code platform for commercial clients. This includes working in an agile environment to understand client business processes and technical needs, launching new relational data models in production, developing APIs to integrate with multiple systems, and mentoring consultants through fast-paced software implementations. You will collaborate with client technical teams and business users throughout the software and development life cycle and drive adoption by empowering clients to become self-sufficient with building process applications on their own.This role is based at our European HQ in London. Employees are expected to be in the office 5 days a week to foster in-person collaboration and our culture of teamwork.QualificationsPassion for mentoring/developing others and experience leading small teams through post-sale software implementationAbility to work with clients to define business processes and gather functional and technical system requirementsExcellent communication skills, passion for technology and continuous learning, and an affinity for asking “why” and solving the right problemsHistory of success on cross-functional teams; experience building products using agile methodologies (pair programming, stand-ups, planning sessions, and sprints)Basic understanding of object oriented programming, experience with relational databases and database design/data modeling, and SQL skillsKnowledge of software testing practices (test-driven development, automated test suites within a CI framework); integrations experience using APIs (REST, SOAP), JDBC, and web services; familiarity with AWS, AI/ML, Google Cloud, and container technologies3+ years of hands-on software development or technical consultingB.S./B.A. in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related fieldWillingness to travel; up to 20% for customer engagementTools and ResourcesTraining and Development: onboarding with department-specific training, mentorship, and the First-Friend program for new hiresGrowth Opportunities: leadership program for new and aspiring managers, Appian University courses, skills-based training, and tuition reimbursementCommunity: an inclusive culture with 8 employee-led affinity groups to build networks and engage in company initiativesAbout AppianAppian is a software company that automates business processes.
