About the Role Homes for Students, the UK's largest independent provider of student accommodation, is seeking a General Manager to lead Abbeygate in Chester. The position is not a typical 9‑to‑5; it involves leading a team to create a thriving student community. You will work 40 hours per week, from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday. As General Manager, you will be the driving force behind an exceptional student living experience. You will work closely with your team to ensure top‑notch customer service across sales, maintenance, and housekeeping. Your leadership will embed the company’s core values and enable the team to excel in their roles. The pinnacle of excitement will arrive in September, when you take charge of the check‑in, check‑out, and room turnaround process. Your outstanding communication skills will shine as you support new students and efficiently address any customer or operational issues that arise. You will receive the unwavering support of the larger Homes for Students team, as well as an outstanding area and regional team. This role demands a diverse skill set, but the company will nurture your growth and development. What We're Looking For Leadership experience in a comparable role or environment. Strong data presentation and analysis skills. Impeccable organisational abilities. Team player with the power to lead, inspire, and motivate. Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office software.
