What you’ll be doing Supervising classes when the teacher is away and guiding students through pre-prepared work Keeping lessons calm, focused and purposeful so learning continues without disruption Supporting a range of subjects and year groups, mainly KS3 and KS4 Taking registers, explaining tasks clearly and helping students stay on track Pitching in with wider school duties when cover isn’t needed, such as small-group support, break duties or admin tasks Following behaviour, safeguarding and wellbeing policies and being a reassuring, positive presence for students Who we’re looking for Someone with clear communication skills, a calm manner and a genuine interest in supporting young people Confident behaviour management and the ability to handle changes in routine with ease Flexible, reliable and comfortable stepping into different classrooms and subjects A team player who gets on well with staff and students alike Committed to safeguarding and creating an inclusive, welcoming learning environment Why this role stands out Many Wiltshire schools are actively expanding their Classroom Supervisor teams, so there’s plenty of consistent work available A rewarding role where every day looks a little different Brilliant for anyone considering a future career in teaching or wanting hands-on school experience A valued position that helps maintain stability and continuity for students If you're ready to jump into classrooms across Wiltshire and be part of keeping learning on track, I’d love to help you get started.
