A secondary school in Swindon is seeking a reliable and confidentCover Supervisor to oversee classes in the absence of teachers, ensuring students remain engaged with their learning. This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, with the option of permanent or temp-to-perm employment. The role is ideal for individuals looking to gain classroom experience in a supportive environment, possibly as a step toward a teaching career.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Behaviour Management**: Maintain classroom discipline in accordance with the school's behaviour policies, ensuring a calm and orderly environment.
- **Lesson Facilitation**: Distribute and explain the lesson plan provided by the absent teacher, answer questions where possible, and ensure students are working productively.
- **Support Learning**: Assist students with their work and encourage engagement, ensuring that all tasks are completed to the best of their abilities.
- **Communication**: Report any issues or concerns (academic, behavioural, or safeguarding) to the appropriate staff member, such as the class teacher or head of department.
- **Administrative Tasks**: Complete relevant administrative tasks such as taking attendance and providing feedback on student progress or lesson coverage.
- **Additional Support**: Provide additional support in the classroom or during extracurricular activities when required.

**Key Requirements**:

- Previous experience working in a school environment is desirable but not essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage a classroom.
- Ability to work independently and follow pre-set lesson plans.
- Understanding of the secondary school curriculum is a plus.
- Confidence in managing behaviour and engaging students of varying abilities.
- Enhanced DBS check required (or willingness to undergo one).

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: £90.00-£105.00 per day

Expected hours: 32 - 40 per week
