We are looking for a competent, highly motivated individual, who is customer focussed to join the Recruitment and Retention Team. The Medical Staffing Officer post is designed to provide an effective and comprehensive recruitment and HR administrative service for Medical and Dental staff within Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be required to possess requisite knowledge, excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail and accuracy. The post is for 27.5 hours per week. Working arrangements can be either a four or five day week and will be discussed at interview. Main duties Deliver a seamless, end-to-end recruitment and retention service for medical staff. Manage all aspects of medical recruitment, including advertising, shortlisting, interviews, pre‑employment checks, and issuing contracts. Provide efficient, accurate, and responsive advice and administrative support to managers and staff. Build and maintain strong working relationships with divisional management teams. Coordinate recruitment processes through NHS Jobs and ESR systems, including arranging interview panels and documenting outcomes. Attend and record Medical and Dental interview proceedings. Administer maternity and paternity leave processes for medical staff. Please refer to the attached job description and person specification for further details. Essential Person Specification Requirements Qualifications Educated to NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) and/or 4 GCSEs (Grade C or above). Experience Administrative experience in a busy, target‑driven environment. Demonstrated ability to deliver excellent customer service and resolve complex issues. Experience of working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. Familiarity with implementing organisational policies and maintaining accurate documentation. Knowledge & Awareness Understanding of how effective administration supports departmental and organisational objectives. Awareness of customer care principles and professional limitations. Skills & Abilities Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent IT and data management skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines, and perform under pressure. Strong problem‑solving, organisational, and analytical abilities. Team player with a proactive, flexible approach and strong interpersonal skills. Demonstrates emotional resilience, professionalism, and commitment to confidentiality.
