We are seeking a part‑time specialist, community‑based gastroenterology dietitian based in Peterborough. The post holder will manage dietetic care for a wide range of gastroenterology conditions (IBS, IBD, PEI, Coeliac disease, Bile Acid Malabsorption, gastric transit disorders such as Dumping Syndrome, and Liver disease). Care can be delivered face‑to‑face, via home visits, or virtually, depending on the clinical needs of the patient. An ability to travel independently across the county without reliance on public transport is essential. As a key member of the Cambridge and Peterborough Foundation NHS Trust, you will be joining an exceptional and well‑regarded team of 34 clinicians covering Gastroenterology, Mental Health, Diabetes and Nutrition Support. Key Responsibilities Provide dietetic service to specialist gastroenterology primary‑care clinics throughout the county, with the majority in Peterborough and the remainder mainly virtual/telephone. Assess and treat complex gastroenterology patients aged 16 years and older, including conditions such as IBS, IBD, PEI, Coeliac disease, Bile Acid Malabsorption, Dumping Syndrome and liver disease, by conducting nutritional diagnoses, negotiating changes and formulating treatment plans in collaboration with patients, relatives and carers. Run Low‑FODMAP group sessions—either face‑to‑face or virtually, including pre‑agreed evening sessions. Conduct home visits as required. Act as specialist topic lead, and work with the team lead to develop and maintain clinical standards, guidelines, pathways and evidence‑based practice in gastroenterology. Support the Team Lead in developing and delivering new ways of working to increase service efficiency and effectiveness, while continually monitoring and evaluating progress. Liaise with the wider multidisciplinary team and external providers (e.g. Talking Therapies) to improve patient access and achieve optimal outcomes. Advise on the safe and appropriate use of prescribed nutritional supplements, and adjust Pancreatic Enzyme Replacement Therapy where competent. Develop and update written resources, including patient information material. Serve as a reference on the management and treatment of gastroenterology patients for non‑specialist colleagues and other health professionals, offering advice and supporting clinical practice. Provide training and updates on nutrition in gastroenterology to a wide range of audiences, including colleagues, catering staff, health and social care staff, carers and clients. Maintain accurate records of all patient consultations and related work using the Nutrition and Dietetic Process and Model. Provide cover to colleagues as required. Work within departmental clinical standards and evidence‑based practice, respecting professional boundaries. Support the department’s Preceptorship Scheme and student training when appropriate. Participate in the Nutrition and Dietetic Service specific emergency preparedness process. Attend relevant business, team, supervision and education meetings unless on authorised leave or with line manager permission. Undertake a service‑wide responsibility appropriate to grade in line with all other dietetic staff. Adhere to the Nutrition and Dietetic Service Document “What a Good Service Looks Like”. Complete departmental competency frameworks relevant to the post, and be peer‑reviewed as required, conducting peer reviews on dietitians, students and assistants. Comply with professional codes of conduct and be aware of changes in legislation, local policies and procedures. Ensure that all duties are carried out to the highest standard and in accordance with current quality initiatives. Comply with all relevant Trust policies, procedures and guidelines, including those relating to equal opportunities, health and safety and the confidentiality of information. Travel and Vehicle Full UK driving licence and access to a private vehicle are required; you must be able to travel independently across the county and meet strict time deadlines. Use of public transport is not permitted for this role. Equal Opportunities We are an equal opportunities employer and actively encourage applications from under‑represented groups, including disabled people and members of ethnic minorities and LGBTQ+ communities. All eligible applicants will be considered. #J-18808-Ljbffr
