We are now hiring a Commercial Director in London to lead growth, strengthen strategic relationships, and help the market turn climate and regulatory risk into long‑term portfolio resilience. What You’ll Do You will lead MapMortar’s commercial strategy — shaping messaging, opening doors, and driving adoption across major real‑estate organisations. Core Responsibilities Build and manage senior relationships with landlords, consultants, investors, and insurers/lenders. Communicate how retrofits reduce rental exposure, value erosion, compliance gaps, and climate‑driven financial risk. Show clients how upgrades align with asset and unit‑level financial plans, improving valuation, liquidity, WAULT protection, and lending/insurance conditions. Create and own sales materials, GTM messaging, and commercial positioning. Feed client insights into product, modelling, and delivery teams. Develop partnerships with consultants, engineering firms, lenders, insurers and relevant collaborators. Represent MapMortar at senior forums, conferences and events as the trusted infrastructure partner for portfolio retrofit execution. What You Bring You understand the commercial, operational, and regulatory pressures on real‑estate owners — and how retrofit decisions impact value. Experience & Expertise 10+ years in asset management, portfolio strategy, ESG/decarbonisation, investment management, or senior consultancy. Strong network across landlords, consultants, lenders, investors, and insurers. Deep understanding of MEES, EPC, CRREM, Net Zero, climate risk, and ESG‑linked financing. Ability to frame retrofit and climate risks in financial terms (rents, capex, valuation, WAULT, liquidity, insurance). Entrepreneurial mindset — strong at building pipeline, messaging, and process from scratch. Excellent communicator across C‑suite, lenders, insurers, and delivery teams. Independent operator who thrives in a fast‑paced environment. Eligibility to work in the UK and London‑based or regularly commuting.
