We are delighted to partner with a leading Property Management business in Manchester to appoint a Fire Safety Assistant. This is a full-time, permanent position in Manchester, paying £27,000 - £32,000. Responsibilities Assist the Fire Safety Manager to effectively implement the requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, The Fire Safety Act 2021, Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 and the Building Safety Act 2022 Undertake occasional building inspections, identify and evaluate areas of fire safety related risk and escape findings to the Fire Safety Manager Undertake low level investigations in relation to fire incidents Adopt a proactive approach to the identification of fire safety related risk, taking appropriate action on a case by case basis Assist the Fire Safety Manager in maintaining effective scrutiny of the building safety regime, created by the Building Safety Act 2022, the Fire safety Act 2021 and related guidance Skills, Qualifications And Memberships NEBOSH Fire Certificate IFE or IFSM Membership Knowledge of key fire safety legislation and guidance, including British Standards, the Approved Documents (B), The Fire Safety in Purpose Built Blocks of Flats guidance (currently under review) and the RICS EWS1 revised criteria Experience of the Fire Risk Assessments process in residential and commercial premises Experienced in managing and supporting the completion of remedial works arising from Fire Risk Assessment processes. Skilled in overseeing the service, maintenance, and compliance schedules for key fire safety systems, including fire alarm and detection systems, emergency lighting, automatic opening smoke ventilation, dry/wet risers, firefighting equipment, and passenger lifts. Strong communicator with the ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships with stakeholders, colleagues, clients, and the Fire and Rescue Service. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications to manage documentation, reporting, and communication efficiently. This is an excellent opportunity. Apply now to find out more.
