Responsibilities Allocating work and duties to the engineering team to ensure that there are sufficient vehicles to provide the required service. Ensuring the engineering team effectively and efficiently delivers the planned and unplanned maintenance and ensuring that all vehicle wheels are checked and torqued. Ensuring that the Peak Vehicle Requirement is delivered and effectively managed daily, which will likely involve a cooperative approach with the Operations Teams. Reviewing the vehicles and allocating a status to each vehicle ensuring that unsafe and unfit vehicles do not enter service and logging any mileage that may be lost, including highlighting specific mileage challengers. Undertaking frequent and regular reviews of the facilities and workshop, including general housekeeping and reporting of any facilities issues and defects. Ensuring any visitors or contractors who are working in the engineering department have the necessary permits to work and supervising any engineering contractors working within the department. Carrying out quality checks on all vehicles ensuring that they meet both the DVSA and company standards. Managing the workshop engineers who are working during the night shift, ensuring that they have the skills and ability to carry out their role, including performance management and ensuring effective and productive time at work. About You It is essential that you have prior experience of managing a team of engineers and are capable of motivating colleagues and ensuring they are willing to work with you to deliver the required vehicle maintenance. You should be able to work under pressure without close supervision and demonstrate initiative and flexibility. A proficient user of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn our unique technologies quickly is required. Ideally you have a membership of the IRTE or hold another relevant professional qualification, and an interest in emerging technologies and electric vehicles would be an advantage. Salary and Benefits £62,250 pa plus benefits including a pension scheme, and a travel pass for London Buses and the Tube Network. Shift Pattern Monday to Friday, 22:00 pm – 06:00 am.
