Waste Operative (Driver) – C1 Licence (7.5 Tonne) Location: Cottage Beck Road Depot, DN16 1TS Full-time 37 hours Tuesday–Friday Pay: £14.50 (PAYE) or £18.29 (LTD) Contract length: 24 / 11 / 2025 until 21 / 02 / 2026 LAST 2 YEARS REFERENCES REQUIRED (all gaps verified) Help keep our community clean, safe and well-maintained. We’re looking for a reliable and motivated Waste Operative (Driver) to operate 7.5-tonne vehicles (C1 licence) and support a small team across our waste collection services. What you’ll do Drive up to 7.5 tonne refuse collection vehicles (C1 licence) Carry out daily vehicle checks and operate lifting equipment safely Lead and support a small team of loaders Move and manoeuvre bins, boxes and caddies Use in-cab technology or paper records Provide clear guidance to residents on waste and recycling Maintain safe working practices and deal with contamination issues Essential C1 licence (up to 7.5 tonnes) Valid Driver CPC Digital tachograph holder Able to walk several miles per day and undertake manual handling Good customer service and communication skills Able to manage and motivate a small team Able to work independently and adapt to changing priorities Professional, tactful and reliable Desirable WAMITAB qualification About the role Outdoor work in all weather conditions Work across refuse collection, waste transfer station and household recycling centres Responsible for vehicle, equipment and PPE Shared supervision of a crew of 1–5 employees Why work with us Supportive and friendly team Stable role with career‑grade progression Varied outdoor work with visible impact on the local community Opportunities to develop skills across waste services Apply today If you’re a confident C1 driver with CPC certification and enjoy hands‑on, team‑focused work outdoors, we’d love to hear from you #J-18808-Ljbffr
