Job - Waste Operative (Driver) Customer: North Lincolnshire Council Location: Cottage Beck Road Depot, DN16 1TS Job Type: Temporary Positions Available: 2 Start Date: Monday, 24th November 2025 End Date: Saturday, 21st February 2026 Hours: 37 per week (Tuesday-Friday, 6:30am-4:15pm) Pay Rate: £14.13 per hour North Lincolnshire Council is seeking Waste Operatives (Drivers) to join the Waste Services team. This is a frontline role serving the community by undertaking duties connected with the removal and disposal of household and commercial waste and recycling. Key Responsibilities Predominantly driving large refuse collection vehicles (HGV Class C licence required) Operating bin lifting equipment and safely manoeuvring refuse containers Supervising a small team of loaders Providing advice to customers on waste and recycling Updating in-cab technology and maintaining accurate records Requirements HGV Class 2 licence with Driver CPC training Digital tachograph holder Experience in waste collection or similar environment Strong teamwork and communication skills Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions Dress Code: Safety shoes, high viz jacket, ballistic trousers Candidate Selection: CV review and interview required.
