Position: 1:1 SEN Teaching AssistantContract: Full-time, Term-time only About the Role A friendly and inclusive primary school in Chigwell is seeking a committed 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Special Educational Needs. This role involves providing personalised support throughout the school day, helping the pupil access learning, build confidence, and make steady progress within a supportive environment. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 support tailored to the pupil s individual learning needs Assist with classroom activities and differentiated tasks Implement strategies recommended by the SENCo and class teacher Support social, emotional, and communication development Promote independence and positive learning behaviours Build a trusting and consistent relationship with the pupil Work collaboratively with staff and parents The Ideal Candidate Will Have Experience working with children with SEN (ASD, ADHD, SEMH, Speech & Language, or similar) A patient, nurturing, and positive approach Strong communication and teamwork skills The ability to adapt quickly and follow guidance A genuine passion for helping children thrive An enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one What the School Offers A warm, supportive staff team Ongoing training and professional development A welcoming, community-focused environment The opportunity to make a real impact on a child s education How to Apply If you are enthusiastic, dedicated, and ready to support a child in reaching their full potential, we d love to hear from you.
