New SEN Provision in Tower Hamlets is recruiting a 1:1 Inclusion Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to help a child(ren) in the Inclusion department with their literacy at either KS3 or KS4. This is a fixed term contract to start immediately

Working in an innovative and creative SEN provision, the successful 1:1 Learning Support Assistant (LSA) must have worked in either; DSP/ SEN Provision/ Alternative Provision/ PRU/ SEN School or Mainstream School. Within this fixed term contract you willbe working with children who may display behavioural needs (ie ADHD/ASD/ SEMH). You have experience with these needs in children on a 1:1 basis and small group work. You will be working with children within the inclusion department and helping them to delivertheir Literacy skills as they are below average. You must have experience in developing literacy skills in an education setting. Additionally you are excellent at de-escalating behaviour in a calm way if required, assertive, resilient and able to build a strongrapport with children and young people.
- Your have recent experience working in a support post as either; Learning Support Assistant (LSA) /Youth Worker/ Learning Mentor/ SEN TA/ Teaching Assistant / Behaviour Mentor
- Must have worked in either; SEN Provision/ DSP/ Alternative Provision / Youth Centre / SEN School / Mainstream School or Pupil Referral Unit (PRU)
- Your SEN Experience; ie CAMHS/ SEMH /ASD/ ASC/ ADHD / ODD/ ADD/ Complex Needs etc
- Experience with helping children with their literacy
- 1:1 & small group setting experience
- Able to successfully engage and build a strong rapport with young people
- In date DBS on the update service OR can pay for a new one ASAP
- Must be in easily commutable distance to Tower Hamlets
