We support individuals and families navigating the challenges of serious illness, and volunteering with us offers you the chance to be part of something truly meaningful. Whether it’s lending a listening ear, offering a warm welcome, or helping behind the scenes, your time and skills can help transform lives. As a volunteer, you’ll work alongside a passionate and friendly team, gain valuable experience, and build lasting connections. Whether you have just a few hours to spare each week or more, we’d really appreciate your support. By giving your time to SSG, you’ll not only help others—you’ll also develop your own skills, confidence, and sense of purpose. Together, we can build a stronger, more connected community. Join us today and help make a lasting impact Typical Tasks Welcoming new visitors and helping them feel at ease. Gathering information by completing forms (e.g., new member forms). Providing refreshments (teas, coffees, biscuits, etc.). Engaging with members during visits – being a “Listening Ear.” Keeping track of visitors and daily occurrences, including phone calls.
