In addition to providing clinical care, the post holder will have opportunities to support, train, supervise, assess and mentor other clinical staff in the service, including West Midlands GUM specialist registrars, GP resident doctors and nursing staff as well as contribute to the undergraduate Sexual Health teaching programme through Keele University. Contribution to departmental research, audit and clinical governance is expected. The post holder will be responsible for keeping up to date with patient and non‑patient related administration. Clinical Duties Counselling on all aspects and prescribing appropriate contraception Providing advice on and prescribing emergency contraception Professional Practice To provide advice and support to medical, health advising and nursing staff To promote continuing quality improvement of sexual health services You will need to demonstrate adequate clinical experience in sexual health service provision and meet the person specification for the Specialty Grade. There will be an opportunity to apply or develop a special interest to augment and expand on current services. You should have experience in the management and prevention of STIs within a specialist service and hold the Diploma of the College of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (DCSRH). The role will need to support development of spoke services as well as evening service provision. Strong team‑working skills and an interest in training, education and service development are essential.
