HSE Manager (Manufacturing) £45,000 - £50,000 + development + private healthcare + benefits Aylesford (occasional travel to Bournemouth) Certain Advantage is hiring for a Health, Safety and Environmental Manager to join a growing SME manufacturer within the renewable energy and hybrid power sector. This role is on a permanent basis and is site-based in Aylesford, with occasional travel to a second site in Bournemouth. You’ll be joining at an exciting point of growth following the move to a new purpose‑built headquarters, with the chance to take ownership of HSE across two UK sites and shape the function for the future. The Company : This is a fast‑growing SME that’s firmly positioned at the heart of the UK’s energy transition. Their purpose‑built facility in Aylesford brings together production, engineering, and support teams, while a smaller site in Bournemouth supports the business’s wider product range. The company has a strong focus on innovation, sustainability and quality, developing integrated energy solutions for both UK and international clients. You’ll be joining a business that values collaboration, initiative and continuous improvement. The Role : This position is ideal for someone who enjoys autonomy and variety. You’ll lead all aspects of health, safety and environmental management across both sites, for a total workforce of circa 85 people, embedding a positive safety culture and supporting ISO systems maintenance and development (9001, 45001 and planned 14001). Day to day you will: Manage and develop the company’s HSE management systems and policies. Conduct audits, inspections, investigations and training sessions. Oversee risk assessments, RAMS reviews and contractor safety management. Collaborate with managers to identify and implement practical risk reduction measures. Drive sustainability and environmental initiatives, including ISO 14001 implementation. Report HSE performance to senior management and lead improvement actions. Support continuous improvement through digitalisation and best practice. The Individual : We’re looking for people who can show: NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma (essential). Proven HSE experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment. Experience managing ISO systems. Pragmatic, hands‑on approach to balancing compliance with operational needs.
