We deliver Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programmes in partnership with local providers, offering safe and welcoming spaces where children can enjoy enriching activities, healthy and positive experiences during the school holidays.The RoleAs an Activities Facilitator, you will plan and deliver engaging sessions to promote children’s physical activity, happiness and involvement throughout the holiday programme. Activities will include arts and crafts, sports, themed challenges, STEM mini‑projects, drama, outdoor play and quiet time sessions.Main DutiesDeliver and lead daily activity sessions in line with programme plansSupervise children during sessions, breaks and transitions, ensuring safety and well‑beingUnderstand individual needs and adapt activities to include and engage all childrenEncourage teamwork, confidence and positive participationSet up and pack away spaces, materials and equipment each daySupport sign‑in and sign‑out proceduresBuild positive relationships with children, families and colleaguesPromote inclusion, well‑being and positive behaviour throughout the dayFollow safeguarding, behaviour management and health & safety proceduresReport incidents, accidents or concerns promptly to the Site LeadContribute to daily briefings and end‑of‑day reflectionsAttend team meetings and required training sessionsPerson SpecificationExperience working with children or young people (in schools, nurseries, clubs or community settings)Level 3 qualification (or equivalent experience) in childcare, education, playwork, youth work or a related fieldEnhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one before starting)Understanding of safeguarding, child protection and equal opportunitiesConfidence leading or facilitating group activitiesGood communication, organisational and teamwork skillsA positive, flexible and proactive approach to working with childrenAbility to maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive environmentFull work history and two satisfactory referencesRight to work in the United KingdomLevel 3 or higher qualification in childcare, education, youth work, playwork or sports coachingPGCE, QTS or teaching assistant qualificationExperience delivering holiday clubs, after‑school or enrichment programmesExperience supporting children with additional needsPaediatric First Aid certificate (or willingness to complete training)Experience using basic IT systems for registers or reportingUp‑to‑date safeguarding or child protection trainingWhat We OfferInduction and safeguarding training before each programmeCompetitive pay and flexible, seasonal workSupportive, fun and inclusive work environmentAll activity plans and materials providedOngoing support from staff and volunteersThe opportunity to make a positive impact on children’s lives in your local communityA friendly and inclusive environment where your contribution makes a real differencePotential to return for future holiday clubs or community projectsPay & ContractPay: Competitive hourly rateContract type: Temporary / Seasonal / Fixed‑Term – during school holidays (possible extension)Start date: DecemberWe are reviewing applications and arranging interviews on a rolling basis, so please apply as soon as possible.We are committed to safeguarding and all offers are subject to reference checks and an enhanced DBS.
