Procurement Specialist

Terumo Aortic are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Specialist to manage the timely, cost-effective, and quality procurement of materials and services. In this role, you will ensure procurement activities align with ERP system recommendations, while closely monitoring demand to minimize waste and prevent obsolescence. The main responsibilities of the role are; Purchase Order Management Generate purchase orders and manage the procurement process from requisition to delivery ensuring compliance with company policies Monitor and track order status to ensure timely delivery of materials. Create and report supplier performance Procurement Strategy Development Support development and implementation of procurement strategies aligned with business objectives. Ensure cost-effectiveness and quality standards in procurement activities. Supplier Management Identify potential suppliers and maintain a robust supplier database. Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality standards. Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliability and collaboration. Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or discrepancies in a timely manner. Schedule and document supplier meetings including QBRs. Cost Analysis and Savings Initiatives Analyse procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost reduction strategies. Risk Management and Compliance Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies. Proactively manage risks within the supply chain and implement mitigation strategies. Team Collaboration Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and drive continuous improvement in procurement practices. Provide support and guidance to internal stakeholders on procurement-related matters. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to procurement activities. Analyse market trends and conduct supplier assessments to identify potential risks and opportunities. Qualifications & Experience; Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field (SCMP/APICS/CIPS) or willing to work towards Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably in a similar industry or operational manufacturing environment. Source and evaluate potential suppliers for goods and services required by the organization. Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality standards. Generate purchase orders and manage the procurement process from requisition to delivery. Coordinate with internal stakeholders to determine procurement needs and specifications. Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or discrepancies in a timely manner. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to procurement activities. Analyze market trends and conduct supplier assessments to identify potential risks and opportunities. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures throughout the procurement process.
