About the Role This is an opportunity to join one of the world’s most prominent and research‑active Departments of Statistics at the Assistant Professor level. The Department’s research spans applied, computational, methodological and theoretical statistics, data science, probability, mathematical finance and interdisciplinary collaboration. Its teaching programmes attract exceptional students at all levels: about 800 undergraduates in Computer Science, Mathematics and Statistics and Data Science, and 150 postgraduate students in MSc Statistics, MSc Mathematical Finance and PhD streams. Major strategic initiatives include the research centre CRiSM, the Applied Statistics & Risk Unit (AS&RU) and the national Academy for PhD Training in Statistics (APTS). Responsibilities Deliver excellent teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in statistics, data science and related areas. Supervise student projects and research activities. Engage with research and teaching across disciplines within and outside the Department. Qualifications Strong track record and outstanding promise in Statistical Methodology and Theory, Computational Statistics and Machine Learning.
