The department’s research spans applied, computational, methodological and theoretical statistics, data science, probability, mathematical finance and interdisciplinary collaboration. It attracts exceptional students at all levels and has around 800 undergraduates and 150 postgraduates. Major strategic initiatives include the research centre CRiSM, the Applied Statistics & Risk Unit (AS&RU), and the national Academy for PhD Training in Statistics (APTS). The department has close ties with the Mathematics Institute, the Department of Computer Science, the Warwick Business School and the Alan Turing Institute. The newly established Warwick Centre for the Applications of the Mathematical and Computing Sciences (CAMaCS) is a joint initiative with Mathematics and Computer Science. About You We are looking for a researcher with a strong track record and outstanding promise in one or more areas of Statistical Methodology and Theory, Computational Statistics and Machine Learning. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver excellent teaching and student project supervision in Statistics, Data Science and related areas. Enthusiasm for engagement with other disciplines within and outside the Department is an additional positive indicator.
