Independent Non-Executive Director, Gamstop Group Limited Gamstop Group Ltd is an independent, not‑for‑profit company dedicated to protecting consumers from gambling‑related harm. We provide consumer‑centric services to the gambling industry, operating three independent schemes: GAMSTOP, MOSES, and GamProtect. Company Overview GAMSTOP allows UK residents to exclude themselves from online gambling operators. MOSES enables a single phone call to self‑exclude from multiple land‑based bookmakers. GamProtect helps operators share confidential customer information securely. The organization is headquartered in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, with outsourced technology in Leeds and a contact centre in Wales. Role Requirements Promote the long‑term sustainable success of the company and its societal impact. Help set vision, values, and culture, ensuring organisational alignment. Act with integrity, lead by example, and promote the desired culture. Set strategic aims, secure necessary resources, and review management performance. Ensure financial integrity and robust risk management systems. Provide constructive challenge, strategic guidance and hold management to account. Allocate sufficient time to board responsibilities. Offer an independent perspective and constructive challenge to board decisions. Apply your skills and experience to provide specialist advice and guidance. Person Specification Essential Strong understanding of financial principles with senior‑level financial oversight experience. Demonstrable independence from the gambling industry. Ability to represent and promote Gamstop Group externally. Availability to attend meetings in the UK. Integrity, credibility, and commitment to social responsibility. Desirable Professional financial qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience. Experience in a consumer‑facing environment, working with vulnerable individuals, consumer research or evaluation. Prior experience as a trustee or non‑executive director. Familiarity with governance in not‑for‑profit or regulated environments. Time Commitment and Remuneration Up to 1 day per month with a minimum of 4 board meetings per year in London and Harrogate. Independent Non‑Executive Director serves a three‑year term with eligibility for one additional term. Remuneration: £15,000 per year plus reasonable travel expenses.
