Job Summary Elgar House Surgery is looking for a forward‑thinking and friendly GP to join our fantastic team. Main Duties This post is for 6 clinical sessions over three days. At Elgar House Surgery you will be part of a supportive team and will be responsible for managing your own patient list. We are looking for someone with a high standard of care and someone who works well with all members of the primary care team. Note: This is an ARRS role but you will be employed by Elgar House Surgery. Therefore there is a criteria for this post. About Us Elgar House Surgery is a large Town Centre practice with almost 15,000 patients. We are active members of our Primary Care Network and a training practice with registrars and medical students. We offer enhanced services such as ear suction and minor operations and are veteran friendly. We have 5 partner GPs, 7 salaried GPs and a nursing team which includes 3 specialist nurses, 2 treatment room nurses and 4 healthcare assistants. Employment Details Location: Church Road, Redditch, Worcestershire, B97 4AB Contract: Fixed term, 10 months Working pattern: Part‑time Salary: Depending on experience Job Responsibilities Provide a full range of NHS Primary Medical services to patients, including clinical examination, diagnosis, treatment, and referral as appropriate. Knowledge of EMIS would be advantageous; training can be provided if needed. Person Specification Qualified GP GMC full registration Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent (JCPTGP) Membership of recognised defence union (MPS/MDU) Currently on a performers list Never removed from a performers list for a detrimental reason Demonstrable commitment to professional development Understands importance of evidence‑based practice and clinical effectiveness Evidence of recent self‑directed learning or development General Medical Practitioner not beyond the second anniversary of their certificate of completion of training at the start of employment Included in the list of medical practitioners maintained by NHS England under section 91 of the NHS Act 2006 Medical practitioner name included in the General Practitioner Register held by the GMC under section 2 of the Medical Act 1983 Additional Requirements Essential: GP Primary Care experience Good understanding of QOF Experience of Microsoft Office applications Experience of GP Clinical IT systems Desirable: EMIS web experience Docman experience Knowledge/Skills Essential: Excellent communication (oral & written) and interpersonal skills Ability to listen and empathise Good time management Excellent keyboard and computer skills Problem solving and solution‑focused approachUnderstanding of clinical governance and quality issues, health and social policy Strong interest in education Desirable: Primary Care audit/service development experience Qualities/Attributes Essential: Ability to relate to the interviewing team Ability to work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team Initiative and drive Pleasant and articulate Able to work under pressure Self‑motivated and positive Empathetic, honest, caring Adaptable and forward‑thinking Enthusiastic and energetic Diplomatic and hard‑working, willing and flexible Observance of strict confidentiality Use own judgement, resourcefulness and common sense Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and requires a submission for Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
