Department The Finance Department aims to provide: high quality management information to support decision making efficient transaction services for our students, staff, departments and external stakeholders a professional purchasing service for departments, ensuring we achieve value for money a reporting and control framework to support all the University's financial activities This role sits within the Group Financial Accounting team who are responsible for financial reporting, statutory returns, financial policy and taxation at the University of York. About the Role The role of Senior Financial Accountant is pivotal within the Group Financial Accounting Team. The post holder will lead on the coordination of group forecasting and variance analysis providing accurate financial information for committee papers. This role will lead preparation of the annual Transparent Approach to Costing (TRAC) return working as a business partner to the TRAC Oversight Committee. Furthermore, as the University works to diversify sources of income the post will support by providing technical financial input to support new ventures. Skills, Experience & Qualification needed Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong knowledge of UK GAAP Preparation of financial reports and commentary for senior stakeholders A high degree of attention to detail and solution orientated Knowledge and understanding of accounting practices and procedures used in large complex organisations Good understanding of financial processes, procedures and regulations Interview date: To be confirmed For an informal discussion about the post, please contact: Philip Callen, Group Finance Manager on philip.callen@york.ac.uk. #J-18808-Ljbffr
