The service and specialities offered is constantly developing to meet the needs of the local communities. We offer a wide range of surgical specialities including General, Urology, Breast, Trauma and Orthopaedics to name a few.Stroud is a beautiful market town in a semi‑rural position that has the added bonus of being in close proximity to the M5 motorway and is also serviced by excellent train links to London, Bristol and the South West; our site offers plentiful free parking at all times. We currently provide a service from Monday to Friday.Main duties of the jobThe role of the Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) or Registered Nurse (RN) requires you to function effectively as a member of the peri‑operative team to ensure the safe provision and development of an efficient and high‑quality service. You will be a key member of the peri‑operative team ensuring that patients receive excellent standards of care. You will be confident in delivering peri‑operative care and will have a broad knowledge and skill base.You will be driven to ensure the standards of care you deliver are effective, current and evidenced‑based and enjoy working within a small team putting the patient at the heart of everything that you do.The qualification, training & experience requirements for the role are underlined in the Job Description/Person Specification.About usWe have a skilled and dedicated workforce of over 5000 colleagues working in a diverse range of services over 55 sites and within people's homes. To that end, we continue to prioritise and invest in our commitment to genuinely becoming a Great Place to Work with consistent top‑quartile performance in the annual staff survey and Pulse surveys.Job responsibilitiesWe provide a Multi‑professional preceptorship programme that is aligned to the National Preceptorship Framework for Nursing and have been awarded the Interim quality mark from NHS England. Our programme is provided to all Newly Qualified; Nurses, Nursing Associates, Internationally Educated Practitioners, Allied Health Professionals and Return to Practice Practitioners. In addition to the programme we also offer all preceptees the opportunity of enrolling and completing the level 7 (Masters) 15 credit validated module Preceptorship for Healthcare (AP7026).Newly qualified Social Workers are offered the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment programme (ASYE) which is similar to a preceptorship programme.The Trust is required to work in line with the Governments UK Visa and Immigration Rules and Regulations.
