Secondment opportunities are also welcome. The role of Theatre Receptionist requires good communication skills with the ability to interact professionally at all times with the multi-disciplinary teams and visitors to the department, both in person and on the telephone. Main duties of the job To provide the first point of contact for operating theatres, presenting a professional, calm and confident manner in line with the Trust's Values & Behaviours. To provide a full reception service to operating theatres. Maintaining accurate information and patient demographics within Trust ORMIS system. Person Specification Education and Qualifications 4 GCSE's grade D or above including Mathematics and English or equivalent NVQ level 2 in customer care or administration experience including recent face to face working with the general public Experience and Knowledge Basic knowledge of Receptionist role Knowledge of the importance of confidentiality and data protection issues in a healthcare environment Experience of working with clinical teams Experience of working with NHS IT systems Knowledge of medical terminology Skills, Abilities and Competencies Good keyboard/IT skills with the ability to accurately input data Good organisational/time management skills with the ability to demonstrate initiative when balancing work demandsAbility to work in a pressurised working environment with frequent interruptions Accurate document presentation and attention to detail Behavioural Qualities Calm and confident under pressure Polite and professional manner Ability to work with potentially distressing and/or emotional information Responsive communication Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
